Before Surgery

Tobradex Voltaren Ophtha

Start both drops 3 days before surgery, 4 times a day.   You do not need any drops on the day of surgery.  You continue both drops the day after surgery for 1 week.   After 1 week, stop the Tobradex and continue the Voltaren Ophtha for 3 weeks.

* When instilling two or more eye medications, always wait at least five (5) minutes after instilling the first medication before instilling the next one.

Day of Surgery

If you are taking glaucoma drops you can use all of them except Pilocarpine.
No other drops are to be used.
No Acular drops.

Day After Surgery

Tobradex: 1 drop to the operated eye 4 times a day for 1 week.


One Week After Surgery

Acular: 1 drop to the operated eye 2 times a day for 3 more weeks.
Tobradex: stop
Tears Natural II: 1 drop to the operated eye 4 times a day until done.
